ONE MAN'S VOTE REVOLUTION

Over time, I've always loved the way Indians give solutions to societal problems via their entertainment industry, especially in their movies.

I watched a movie named ‘Sakar' recently.

The movie unraveled the power of one vote as far as an election is concerned.

I've always been a citizen who believes in political participation. It's my responsibility as a Citizen of a country on planet earth.

On  February 9th, 2021, Professor Mahmood Yakubu (INEC Chairman) disclosed in Abuja at the commission's first consultative meeting with Civil Society Organisations that The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said voter turnout across Nigeria hovered around 30 to 35 percent of registered voters in the last two electoral cycles.

The reasons are; inadequate voter and civic education, ineffective voter mobilization, the fear of violence during elections,) unfulfilled promises by elected officials, and low public trust in state institutions.

In addition, a sect in Christianity also believes in political parties religion-wise.

 They prove their belief by the claim that Jesus was never involved in any political activities because his government is not of this world.

Whereas, they are still the same people who will work for the government and won't love to be sidelined when opportunity unfolds I guess.

Maybe if there was anywhere in the scripture where voting takes place and Jesus did not, that would have ascertained their claim.

When he says his Kingdom is not of this earth, he is not saying we should cut off from systems that uphold the earth. Cutting off from the systems in which the world runs is unwise.

Starting from King Herod who feels threatened when Jesus was born and was referred to as the king of Jews.

 He was thinking he will be a future political ruler from his deduction.

Jesus clarified later and said his kingdom is not a political kingdom but a spiritual kingdom and his throne was not of this earth. 

The illustration was for purpose of clarification and not to be politically apathetic.

This whole Nigerian politics can be tiring and annoying at times. There are so many reasons to just stay low-key and let them run the country the way they want, as it is looking like our votes are not counting.

Sucking the country dry with little or no foresight on how to move the country forward. Inflation, Corruption cases, strikes, and so on...

Just name one sector that is working in the country?

Most of the political aspirants don't even involve their families in political exercises because their families have to be safe, the masses are their weapon and there is always a plan B for them.

Thou, the feasibility of a vote changing the narratives is slim but if the remaining 65% who are registered voters should turn out for elections, it will surely go a long way.

Have you gotten your PVC?

Our trust in democracy remains only because of an election every four years.

Some unethical few people shouldn't make us lose faith in Nigeria's democracy.

Thoughtful words on Deborah Samuel's killing

 

For some days now, I've been engaged in conversations on Facebook over this beloved Deborah Samuel who was brutally killed as she was accused of blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed.

The heart breaking part was the comment session, giving room for a lot of questions to keep popping up in my mind. 

I was seeing content that justified the killing and it was looking like a dream to me sincerely.

Really?

Is affirming my belief a blasphemy that warrants nothing but death?

It's way obvious that the concept and belief systems of different religions are on their own blasphemous to one another. 

So, why the unnecessary provocations?

Are we all humans in this country?

What Law is governing us in Nigeria?

I know Sharia Law is recognized in Nigeria but,  does it apply to every other citizens that is not bound by Islam? 

All I know for sure is that Nigeria is not a Sharia state.

Where are these northern religious fanatics from?

 Different people from this religious sects are contradicting their statements as some said it's a death well-deserving while others said it is uncalled for. 

Why are they contradicting themselves?

I am confused.

Whose report do we believe?

All I know is a set of religious people provoked and reacting because of someone's utterance against their prophet is only a display of insecurity towards their convictions.

If they indeed know the only true God, they will not think they are doing this for him.

Kill- to sniff life out of God's creature. This is devilish.

The God I know is love and love is kind. The God I know is not partial, he loves everyone. He is not easily provoked and thinketh no evil.

Why not correct the lady in love? 

I don't think education can solve this problem because that happened in a  citadel of learning.

 These are just a set of religious fanatics instilling fear to subject people to bondage.

They need a reorientation of minds and serious prayers.

Referring to the laws from Leviticus to justify the fact that the Holy Scripture supports killing anyone who blasphemes is out of it because the author and finisher of faith in the person of Jesus changed the narratives.

 From the laws to the prophets to his dispensation, he showed us an excellent way.

The story of the adulterous woman is a perfect example of what Jesus would have done.

He said ‘Woman, where are your accusers? Your sins are forgiven, go and sin no more.

Jesus was later killed because to the religious ones, he was blasphemous with his utterance when he affirmed that he is Christ; the son of God.

But, had they known, they won't have crucified the lord of glory.

To wrap this up, general duke says, a creator doesn't need to be defended by what he created at the expense of destroying his creations. Humanity must wake up from some set of psychological hypnotic rhythms.

Nothing justified this evil act. 

At the end of the outcome of this incident, may their testimony be “had they known, they won't have crucified Deborah Samuel”.

Rest on Deborah and forever walk on the street of gold.

WHAT IS GOOD ABOUT THE FRIDAY?

 

His goodness is good about the Friday and it looks good on us. That's why it's worth celebrating🥂🤍

The goodness encapsulated in his death, burial, and resurrection to the end that God would in us. 

HOW?

 For he is good and his mercy endureth forever

His goodness was reflected in the creation story.

Even after Man fell and knows good from evil, his goodness sent them out of the garden that they won't live in their sins forever.

The seed of the woman prophesied was the goodness sent to overcome the evil in this world.

 The goodness personified couldn't resist his nature.

He went about doing good.

And anyone who has come to acknowledge and identify with this goodness will overcome the evil days in this world and be created in him unto good works.

The fruit of the spirit is Love and one of the pieces of evidence is  goodness

 All others are still in goodness, righteousness, and truth.

WHAT A GOOD GOD

Do you want to identify with this goodness?

Believe the good news.

Believe the gospel.

Don't say it is too good to be true.

Say, why shouldn't I enjoy this goodness?

MY SPIRIT, MY HEADQUARTER

 

My spirit, my essence.

My spirit, my reality.

My spirit, my headquarter.

A dead man is called by his name but no response.

Gone.

Lifeless body on the ground.

Breath of life was breathed into man's nostrils to become a “living soul"

The body wants comfort and pleasure.

Soul wants to comprehend all.

Spirit: the entirety of what man is and where fate lies searches for the truth.

They are different entities.

Christ's body says let this cup pass over me but his spirit says let your will be done.

There is a contention that separates the entities.

Even as God in flesh, he has to do what will continually put the voice of flesh in silence to echo his assignment on earth via the spirit man.

Invest in your spirit man because, in the end, that's what will stand the test of time.

Say “My Spirit, My headquarter " repeatedly.

There is a way it makes you conscious of your reality.

 Piles of thought cloud my psyche 

Rains of emotions almost flowed out through my eyes

I can't help but to wish this memory can be formatted

I feel like a shadow of myself

Why? He asked.

While brooding, he said with his soothing voice,

It is understandable.

But remember, asides from the obvious calculations that made you think you were not a choice in the first instance, my instruction was what you also followed. 

And that settles it.

Don't be caught up in your past because it blocks your eyes from seeing what the future holds. 

Focus, don't be bitter nor feel defeated.

It's all about how the Gospel came to being...

How that from the beginning, the seed of the woman that bruised the head of the serpent was prophesied.

How that the incorruptible seed of the word was made flesh manifested before his death, burial and resurrection.

 Oh!!! The birth of jesus that made me know I have the joy of salvation to the end that God can now indwell me through his Spirit.

Anna and Simeon blessed and thanked God for the consolation of Israel and redemption in Jerusalem.

It's all about ChristJesus

God sowed Jesus his begotten son so that many sons can be brought into the kingdom....

 Are you a Son? 

Son; not as a biological configuration but as an heir of God through Christ.

He's extending his fatherhood arm this season......

Subscribing to God's standard is not old school.

 

In a kingdom, there is a culture; a way of life.

 How you talk, think and do things will show people to a large extent where you come from.

There are principles and standards laid down that sets a kingdom apart from other kingdoms.

There are some notable display amongst Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo that distinguishes them from one another.

As believers, we are from a kingdom and from a city called Zion. Some things can not just be known with us.

Overtime, it has been counted as a norm probably how the society now pictures some things as no big deal but to us it's a real deal.

Some will just be naturally angry with you because you don't subscribe to their own mindset about a perspective. You are just different and weird to them.

This is not a condemnation message as we know people's mindsets are shaped by a lot of events and how their nurturing is like.

Is God's standard that scarce ? Asides from the scarcity, the way some people think it's not even possible for people to honour that instruction in Hebrews 13:4 is scary.

How do we tell them to believe us and let them know that people still hold God's word in high esteem ?

How do we let them know that following the standard is for our benefits because God knows what is best for us ?

How do we tell them that being in some places as a believer is strange to our lineage?

How do we tell them we are not a fanatic but just living out our reality?

You really don't need more explanation because your actions and words already does.

My prayer is that God's standard gains more ground and that we won't lose our guards in Jesus name.

We stand boldly and firmly in God's standard in Jesus name.
